About Us

At 46 North Street, the Elks have been holding down a corner of Monticello that most people drive past without knowing what's inside. Walk through the door and you'll find a bar with a solid beer selection, a room full of people who actually talk to each other, and a bartender who treats first-timers like regulars. That's not marketing copy. That's what members say, unprompted, in their own words.

Lodge #1544 is part of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, one of America's oldest fraternal organizations, but the vibe here is less formal ceremony and more neighborhood gathering spot. You might come for bingo night and stay two hours longer than you planned. You might grab a dozen steamers on a Tuesday afternoon and end up eating under the pavilion with people you've never met. That's the point.

With a 4.7-star rating built on real visits from real community members, this lodge earns its reputation one plate of wings and one friendly conversation at a time.

What We Offer

The kitchen at Elks Lodge #1544 punches above its weight. Steamers, assorted wings, burgers, and rotating specials give you real food at prices that don't make you wince. Eat in at the bar, grab a table in the dining area, or take your order out to the outdoor pavilion when the weather cooperates. Dine-in and takeout are both welcome.

Beyond the food, the lodge runs regular bingo nights, member events, and social gatherings that give the Monticello community a genuine reason to show up. The bar is stocked with a decent rotating beer selection, and the atmosphere is easy, not stuffy. Whether you're a long-standing Elk or someone who just walked in for the first time, you'll find a seat and someone worth talking to.

"I was recently brought to this lodge by a coworker. I had a great time. The bartender was nice. The members and other patrons were social but not overbearing. They had a decent beer selection. We had a couple Devil's Path IPAs from Catskill Brewery. I'm not sure of the cost because I didn't pay! I believe its fairly inexpensive. They have a few TVs and the usual bar items such as shuffleboard, darts and pool. The also have a wing special night offering a few varieties and extras. I believe you need to be a member or accompanied by a member to attend though so start looking for a member and get over there!"

"Well maybe if they call the numbers more so I could buy more to play because my last experience seems like I was playing more speed Bingo than regular bingo so that was a little bit disappointing most of the time I enjoy it if it becomes speed bingo I will be playing less"

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
